Basketball is a great family activity that provides lifelong skills and discpline that promotes a healthy lifestyle.
Many Batemans Bay Basketball families enjoy volunteering as coaches, bench duty, and even committee members, Batemans Bay Basketball Association are asking families/friends to partake in the below, as an excellent way to give back to the community and promote the healthy lifestyle.
Committee Member
Batemans Bay Basketball Association committee members look after the day-to-day operations for:
- Domestic and representative competitions
- Coaching, assistant coaching, and referee opportunities
- Development programs
- Social media content
- Website design
Without the efforts and commitment of committee members, BBBA would not be what it is today. So this is a great place to offer skills or even learn new skills.
Coach | Assistant Coach
BBBA currently has opportunities for both coaches at the domestic comp level to representative team coaches.
If your looking to be closer to the game because you haven't played in awhile or even coached before, then this would be an excellent opportunity to help out the community.
Just remember coaching can start at any skill level, age, and we at BBBA encourage and invite you to become a coach.
Referee
BBBA are looking for the youth of today to put their hands up to become game officials, not olny does this provide fitness, but also an opportunity of first employment.
Bench Duty
Not only is it the best way to partake in the games without actually playing, it is the best seat in the stadium by far. BBBA encourage all parents/caregivers to partake in this game activity, There may also be an opportunity for BBBA to run a crash course on bench duty.
Team Managers
One of the fundamental roles to play during any basketball season is the team manager, this is an excellent way to communicate with coaches, players and even parents/caregivers.
BBBA encourage all parents/caregivers that do not want to coach, be on bench duty, or even referee to take some time and explore the idea of becoming a team manager.
